different Types of braces for every smile
The best Simi Valley smiles are made right here in our modern, mellow orthodontic office.
Braces have been a trusted choice in orthodontics for decades! With brackets bonded to each tooth and wires that gently guide your teeth into alignment, we start with light, flexible wires and gradually shift to more rigid ones as your smile takes shape.
Choose from traditional metal braces with colored ties for a one-of-a-kind smile, or ceramic clear braces that blend in with your teeth for a discreet alternative.
Using the highest quality braces, your board-certified orthodontist Dr. Albert can treat all cases — from simple to complex.

More Than Aesthetics
While a beautiful new smile is the most sought-after benefit of braces, it isn't the only one!
Straight teeth are easier to clean, which means less risk of gum disease and tooth decay. Misaligned teeth are more prone to chipping, and can cause issues with tooth grinding, TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder), sleep disorders, breathing issues and more.
Braces significantly reduce the risk of these vital issues.
The Braces Treatment Process
Consultation & Braces Placement
At your initial consultation, Dr. Albert will examine your smile to determine whether braces are the best treatment route to meet your needs and match your lifestyle.
If you're looking for invisible braces, we also offer Invisalign!
Once we examine your smile, x-rays, teeth and bite, Dr. Albert will create your custom treatment plan.
If you're ready to start your transformation right away, we can place your braces the same day!
Adjustments & Checkups
Once your braces are placed and your transformation begins, you'll visit us every 4-6 weeks for adjustments.
At these visits, you'll kick back in the chair and relax with your own ceiling-mounted TV, while Dr. Albert does the work.
Dr. Albert will be your personal orthodontist at every visit. You'll never have to wonder who you're seeing! He'll assesses your progress and tighten/adjust your braces to keep you on the fastest track to your perfect smile.
Braces Removal & Retainers
Now's the moment you've been waiting for! Once you and Dr. Albert are happy with your smile, we'll remove your braces and polish your teeth.
You'll receive a set of custom-made retainers, designed to protect your new smile for years to come. Wearing your retainer is essential for maintaining your results and preventing your teeth from relapsing back to their original positions. (This is a natural, biological process that we want to avoid.)
We'll tell you everything you need to know about wearing your retainer and keeping your smile in perfect shape.

FAQs
How do braces work?
Brackets are bonded to each tooth and specialized wires are tied into the brackets. It is the wires that move your teeth. We start out with thin, flexible wires and gradually increase to thicker, more rigid wires. Each set of wires will move your teeth closer to the desired final position. While all cases are unique, it can take anywhere form six months to two years to correct your smile with braces.
What are the benefits of traditional metal braces?
As a tried and true method, braces are one of the most reliable ways to straighten teeth. Individuals dealing with minor to severe orthodontic issues can benefit from their effectiveness. Unlike clear aligners, you don’t have to worry about removing or losing your braces, setting your smile up for success. This is particularly useful for younger children or those who simply want a hassle-free solution to removable clear aligners.
How do you care for your braces?
Caring for your braces is similar to regular oral healthcare. Make sure to use a soft-bristled brush to keep your teeth, brackets, and wires clean and free from debris. Make sure you brush all surfaces of your teeth, especially between your brackets and gums, and under any brackets with hooks. Don’t forget to floss! Visit your orthodontist for regular follow-ups to ensure your teeth are adjusting properly and your general dentist and hygienist at least twice per year for checkups and cleanings.
Am I a good candidate for braces?
Metal braces are an excellent solution to a number of orthodontic issues. If your teeth are crowded, overlapped, gapped, or crooked, metal braces can restore your smile and shift your teeth back where they belong. Patients struggling with an overbite, crossbite, overjet, or open bite may also be great candidates for metal braces.
How much do braces cost?
The cost of metal braces is different for each patient. Factors that may affect the cost of your metal braces include the severity of your teeth misalignment, appointment and visits, insurance type, and more. The best way to find out how much you’ll pay for metal braces is to schedule a consultation with your orthodontist.
